Water Project – Lupagan, Philippines

Mains Water and a New Water Well

Water connection is a taken for granted general expectation for many people, turn the tap on an hey presto, clean drinking water.

I don’t consider the Philippines to be a 3rd world country, that is only a label related to the economy of a country, this is why I was surprised to find that so many rural communities have communal water wells.

A water mains connection has been made to one of the local houses and this has inspired a new project.

Local residents collect there drinking water, do the laundry and shower here.

An interesting fact is that the local municipality visit once a month and drop a water purifying tablet into the well pipe, this is intended to make the water drinkable.

Beth's house residential area lupaganWhen referring to residents on our peninsular I am referring to a residential piece of land jutting out and surrounded by rice fields, technically it is not a peninsular as such but I know what I mean.

Having spoken to another expat, with his local influence and connections within the municipality this local project is moving forward.
